Alternative exchange adds new advisers for SMEs

The JSE Securities Exchange (JSE) has announced eight additional designated advisers for companies, especially small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), wanting to list at Africa's new Alternative Exchange (AltX) in addition to Investec Corporate Finance.

The companies are Sasfin Corporate Finance, PSG Capital Limited, Imara Corporate Finance, LPC Manhattan Sponsors, Exchange Sponsors, Java Capital, Bridge Capital Group and Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank.

AltX is a new board at the JSE that will list small and medium growing companies due to open for trading on 27 October. The market has reduced listing fees and would be supported by the full range of JSE services.

The new board will offer new opportunities to issue new shares, raise funds, widen investor base and trade shares on a regulated market to a myriad of companies, especially Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) ones.
