Afreximbank, CBZ bank launch $80m trade boost for Zimbabwe

Afreximbank, a prominent multilateral financial institution, has partnered with CBZ Bank to provide an $80m facility aimed at bolstering trade opportunities for Zimbabwean companies. The agreement was formalised during Afreximbank’s 31st annual meetings and 3rd Afri-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum.

The facility spans three years initially, with an option for a two-year extension. CBZ Bank clarified that US$60m of the facility will be allocated to supporting working capital needs for exporters and SMEs across Zimbabwe's value chains, enabling financing for inventory, supply chain logistics, and pre- and post-export business activities.
