RAND TRUST was the pioneer of invoice discounting in South Africa (in 1958) and the product has since evolved and developed to become well-known under the term of Asset Based Finance (ABF). The banks followed approximately twenty years later, according to Rand Trust’s executive director Brian Tresidder.
