58% SMEs confess having financial dificulties


A recent study by the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Businesses showed that 58.3 per cent of 310 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were having troubles making ends meet.

More than half of the SMEs polled said they are undergoing financial difficulties. Fewer said they were going to give their workers holiday bonuses this year, compared to last year.Only 9.6 per cent said they weren't experiencing problems.

The percentage of companies facing difficulties was up 10.1 percentage points when compared to those polled in a similar survey the agency conducted in January 2004. About 68 per cent of companies said they would give holiday bonuses, down from 73.3 per cent last year.
