Ј10m project will help local SMEs

An exciting Ј10m project aimed at providing free advice to local firms is to be launched at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham, later this month.

The West Midlands Technology Network (WMTN), an exciting new holistic engineering product design and manufacturing advice service will be officially launched on 19 September. The project is marketing its services to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Midlands region.

Co-ordinated by the University of Wolverhampton, the project is a collaboration between nine partners who collectively provide expert consultancy free-of-charge to businesses that traditionally would not have access to such advice and facilities.

The launch will feature prestigious speakers including land-speed record holder Richard Noble, and Howard Marshall, chairman of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), West Midlands.
