SAP Taulia appoints Kirsten Loegering CPO and promotes Andrew Schafer to CTO

SAP Taulia has appointed former SAP and ServiceNow executive Kirsten Loegering as chief product officer and promoted Andrew Schafer to chief technology officer, strengthening its leadership of product development and technology infrastructure as it pursues closer integration between enterprise software and working-capital finance.

The changes were announced on 15 October, although Loegering’s appointment took effect on 28 September. She will lead SAP Taulia’s global product strategy and development roadmap, while Schafer will oversee its core technology architecture, security and operational resilience.

Loegering brings almost three decades of experience in enterprise software, including 25 years at SAP. During her earlier career there, she helped develop procurement and supply-chain collaboration products, including SAP Supplier Relationship Management and SAP Business Network.

Most recently, she was general manager and vice president of product management for finance and supply-chain workflows at ServiceNow, where she led the development of an AI-focused workflow business.

Her return to the SAP ecosystem is significant because the commercial value of embedded working-capital finance depends partly on how effectively financing decisions can be connected to existing procurement, invoicing and supplier-management processes.

In supply chain finance, that connection can determine when approved invoices become eligible for early payment, how transaction information is shared with funding institutions and how much manual reconciliation is needed between buyers, suppliers and financiers.

Schafer, previously SAP Taulia’s vice president of technology, will be responsible for the technical infrastructure supporting the company’s product ambitions. His earlier career includes technology leadership positions at Avanade and Meta, alongside chief technology officer roles at Arteli and ConveyIQ.

SAP Taulia chief executive Cedric Bru linked the appointments to SAP’s vision of autonomous finance, in which corporate data and processes are more closely connected to support financial decision-making.

However, the announcement concerns leadership responsibilities and development priorities rather than the launch of a new financing product.

SAP Taulia did not disclose new funding commitments, customer contracts, transaction volumes attributable to the appointments or a timetable for additional AI-enabled functionality.

The reshuffle nevertheless highlights the increasing importance of product integration and reliable transaction data in working-capital technology.

For corporate finance teams and supply chain financiers, the test will be whether these organisational changes translate into measurable improvements in processing efficiency, financing access and the management of payment and supplier risks.
