Shape Robotics secures multi-facility financing package from UniCredit Romania

Shape Robotics has secured a significant financing agreement with UniCredit Romania, aimed at boosting liquidity, supporting strategic projects, and scaling production. The package includes a suite of credit facilities that reinforce the company’s financial flexibility as it expands its STEAM education offerings.

Financing Overview:
Working Capital Line – EUR 7.5m
A 36-month revolving credit line, backed 50 per cent by the EU’s SME Competitiveness Guarantee and 100 per cent by Shape Robotics’ corporate guarantee. This facility supports production, procurement, and distribution for educational robotics.

Export Factoring – EUR 6m
A non-recourse facility offering 90 per cent financing for international distributor invoices, with terms of up to 150 days.

Credit Card Facility – EUR 250,000
A 24-month limit for operational flexibility, initially available for 12 months, secured by cash collateral.

Financial Leasing – EUR 500,000
A 12-month plafond for equipment investments, with maturity of up to 60 months, supporting production and logistics expansion.

Strategic Impact
The financing strengthens working capital, crucial for managing long payment cycles in public procurement. It supports the rapid rollout of the Thinken product line and deployment of SmartLab and Techducator solutions across Europe and emerging markets.
The agreement enforces robust financial governance, with terms covering liquidity ratios, leverage, shareholder loan subordination, and debt limitations.
