Shopify Capital, which provides funding to online retailers, is launching in Australia. Shopify Capital, owned by Shopify Inc. a Canadian multinational, will be supporting its merchant base in Australia which is already quite extensive. Almost 40 per cent of Australia’s merchants are selling at home and internationally with the aid of the Shopify e-commerce platform. In 2021 Shopify’s Australian merchants generated AUD 39bn and were responsible 154,000 jobs.
