BCR’s inaugural Supply Chain Finance Forum in London focuses on the industry’s emerging evolutionary trends and in particular the move towards targeting the largely untapped mid-cap buyers market. The forum will showcase innovations within supply chain finance for the mid-market, new arbitrage opportunities this market can provide, and review developing markets such as Asia and other high interest rate regions.

Mark Abrams
Director, Trade Finance Global

Mark heads up the trade finance offering at TFG where he focuses on bringing in alternative structured finance to international trading companies. Prior to joining TFG (tradefinanceglobal.com), Mark qualified as a lawyer with a top ranked global trade and structured commodity finance team. Mark has previously advised commodity trading firms, banks and alternative capital providers on international structured trade financings, pre-export, prepayment and limited recourse structures - notably in the oil, soft commodities and metals sectors. This has included mining finance projects, structured letter of credit facilities, receivables discounting and forfaiting agreements.

Alistair Baxter
Head of Receivables Finance, Taulia

Alistair is Taulia’s Head of Receivables Finance. In this role, he has established and grown a technology-centric family of receivables financing products to further serve their customers’ needs. Before joining Taulia, Alistair spent over ten years in corporate and investment banking at RBS, followed by a short stint at Greensill Capital. He worked in Corporate Advisory, Leveraged Finance, and served as Head of Supply Chain Finance before joining Greensill to bring scale to a structured receivables product line. Alistair is London-based and holds a BSc. (Hons) in Statistics from the University of St Andrews.

John Bugeja
Managing Director, Trade Advisory Network

John Bugeja is a highly experienced trade, supply chain and invoice finance specialist with more than 40 years’ experience in senior leadership roles with HSBC, NatWest, RBS, Barclays and Lloyds Banking Group. John is now Managing Director of Trade Advisory Network Limited, a trade, supply chain and invoice finance advisory network, delivering product development and innovation, operating model design and implementation, training and education and deal structuring and placement solutions to banks, alternative finance providers, fintechs, technology service providers and corporates. John is often called upon to act as expert witness when trade and supply chain finance related disputes go to tribunal or court. Key areas of expertise include origination, risk and governance, product management and development, business development, organisation design, change management, process facilitation, training and management development. John is passionate about promoting the development of supply chain finance in all its forms and was a member of the drafting group that wrote the ICC rules for Uniform Rules for Digital Trade Transactions (URDTT). John is also co-author of LIBF’s Certificate in Supply Chain Finance, FCI’s Supply Chain Finance online learning module and the  ICC Academy’s Advanced Supply Chain Finance online course, a core module of their CTCP programme.

Mark Coxhead
CEO, Woodsford Tradebridge

Mark enjoyed a varied and international career at the German engineering giant Siemens, culminating in the opportunity to launch a successful product lifecycle software and services business, that won customers such as the Australian and Malaysian Navy. In 2011 it was sold to Atos and Mark returned to the UK, where he joined the Woodsford team in 2012 to co-found Woodsford TradeBridge, a supply chain finance venture focussed on supporting mid-market companies. With 20 years’ experience in senior Finance Director, supply chain management and service delivery roles, Mark has a unique blend of financial supply chain and business expertise. A passionate believer in the potential of supply chain finance, he brings together the ingredients needed to successfully create and deliver innovative supplier finance programmes and has been leading and growing Woodsford TradeBridge since launch.

Paul Crayford
Director, Operations Consulting, KPMG

Paul is a Director in KPMG's Operations Consulting practice in the UK. He supports our clients in whole breadth of industry sectors, by transforming the performance of their operations and supply chains. Paul is currently focused on helping our clients prepare their supply chains and operations for Brexit, and am the Brexit lead for Supply Chain at KPMG.

He has more than 12 years of 'Big Four' consulting experience. A lean manufacturing engineer by background, he previously worked with companies such as Toyota and Honda to improve the efficiencies and flexibilities of large production lines in the automotive supply chain.

Since joining KPMG, he has led many transformation projects in major multi-national organisations in the automotive, consumer goods, retail, telecoms and hotel sectors. Paul is interested in the role that next generation technology, simulation and advanced analytics will play in operational performance improvement.

Bertrand de Comminges
Managing Director, Global Head Trade Finance Investments, Santander Alternative Investments, SGIIC, SAU

A renowned industry expert, Bertrand is currently the lead portfolio manager for the global Trade Finance strategy at Santander Alternatives Investments, SGIIC, SAU, Santander Holdings´ private investments arm. Previously, Bertrand worked for eight years at HSBC wherein his last role he was responsible for the European business development activities for Global Trade and Receivables Finance. Previously, he was HSBC’s Global Product Head of Structured Solutions and Global Head of Solutions Structuring, among other roles. Before HSBC, Bertrand worked at JP Morgan as EMEA Head Structured Trade Advisory and for RBS/ABN Amro, where in his last role he was EMEA Head of Trade. Bertrand is Co-Chair of the International Trade & Forfaiting Association´s ITFIE working group (Trade Finance Investment Ecosystem), whose efforts are targeted to make Trade Finance an investable asset class for institutional investors. Bertrand is also a Subject Matter expert in the ICC’s Global Supply Chain Finance initiative. Bertrand is a Chartered Actuary, has a full-time MBA from the London Business School, and an MSc degree in Economics and Business Sciences from UCM. On the private side, Bertrand is a trustee of educational charities and is a single father of five young children.

Jacco de Jong

Jacco possesses over 35 years’ experience in the International Trade and Commodity Finance Banking space, having worked both for and with numerous major Trade Banks over the past three decades. With his vast wealth of knowledge and deep understanding of Trade Finance and digitisation processes from a Bank, Corporate and FinTech perspective, Jacco serves as a trusted advisor to numerous Corporates and Financial Institutions across the globe. In his role as Head of Global Strategic Business Development, Jacco provides customers with pragmatic, expert support and advice in their transition towards adopting/embedding trade digitisation into their business. As a SWIFT-certified Trade & Supply Chain Finance consultant, Jacco frequently moderates, speaks and participates in panels at international Trade and Supply Chain Finance events organized by institutions such as SIBOS, ICC, FIBA, SWIFT and more.

Richard Hawkins

Atlantic RMS works for many of the leading financial institutions in Europe, Asia and the USA. Richard is recognised as one of the leading experts in his field with over 30 years of experience dealing with complex cross-border transactions, portfolio management projects, corporate recovery, and credit and tactical risk management. Richard has published various articles, has spoken at many industry events and is co-author of Asset Based Working Capital Finance, published by Financial World Publishing on behalf of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

Daniel Huszár
Head of Sales, EFCOM

Daniel Huszár is Head of Sales at efcom, a technology company focused on the receivables finance market. Coming from the business and distribution side of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Mr Huszár founded his own advertising agency, before joining efcom in 2012. As Head of Sales, he supports efcom's international business expansion, by defining a global marketing and sales strategy. Mr Huszár is a regular speaker at international conferences hosted by FCI, BCR Publishing and numerous European factoring associations. His main interest and driving force is to add value to the industry through insight about future technologies.

Mark Ling
Head of Trade & Working Capital, Santander Corporate & Commercial Banking

Mark joined Santander to drive the development of its International business across the UK in May 2014. He is responsible for International Origination across our Large Corporate business (£50 + Turnover) nationally and for our Trade Finance, Supplier Finance and Invoice Finance Products and solutions across SCCB. Mark represents the Bank in numerous forums in particular the BBA on committees that focus on Exports and Trade Finance. Also acts as lead for our relationship with UKEF. Prior to joining Santander Mark spent 12 years at RBS leading various businesses and teams throughout its Large Corporate, Institutional, Corporate and SME business. He was instrumental in building the FTSE 350 business around the Trade and Supply chain financing disciplines. Mark began his career as a management trainee with Standard Chartered bank where he worked across the UK branch network, in London and in Asia for 20 years. As well as leading Corporate and Institutional Banking teams across a variety of sectors, geographies and segments he also developed Standard Chartered’s Supply Chain Financing proposition, leading a Global team in Singapore. Mark is passionate about developing international business across the corporate and commercial segments and creating the next generation of Exporters and skilled international bankers

Tim Nicolle
CEO, PrimaDollar

Tim has approaching 30 years experience in asset-based lending and financing, and in the systems and technologies that power these industries. He is well-known internationally as an expert in securitisation and emerging markets. Prior to founding PrimaDollar, Tim was an equity partner at PwC (CEE region) and was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank in London responsible for securitisation across emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa

Sonja Rethagen
Head of Credit Insurance and Factoring, BüchnerBarella Holding

Sonja Rethagen is the Head of Trade Credit, Surety und Receivables Financing. She manages and co-ordinates a team of 15 specialists located in BüchnerBarella’s offices across Germany. Sonja’s professional focus is on the placement and handling of national and international trade credit and factoring facilities. She is based in Munich. BüchnerBarella is an independent, owner-managed insurance broker founded in 1922 and is today one of the fastest growing broking companies in Germany. Before joining BüchnerBarella in March 2015, Sonja was the managing partner in a start-up company in trade credit insurance broking. Her career began in January 2000 as a regional sales and account manager at the world’s largest credit insurance group. She served this company in various client interface and management roles for over 9 years, her last position being that of Senior Executive Manager.

Mirka Skrzypczak
Head of Working Capital & Trade Products, RBS

Mirka is an experienced Product Head with 14 years’ experience in the banking industry; currently leading Open Account product suite for RBS covering Supply Chain Finance, Invoice Finance and Overdrafts. Her team manages all stages of the product lifecycle including new product development, product strategies, pricing, distribution and servicing of existing products. She joined RBS in 2010 having previously worked for GMAC and GlaxoSmithKline. Mirka has Masters Degree in Economics from University of Economics, Poznan, Poland.

Martin Sommer

Martin Sommer is a Principal in Oliver Wyman’s Corporate and Institutional Banking practice. He has worked in depth with leading financial institutions, with a focus on strategy and innovation projects in Corporate and Transaction Banking across UK and EMEA. Martin co-leads Oliver Wyman’s market-leading annual Transaction Banking benchmarking platform, which delivers detailed performance metrics to the largest global and regional transaction banks. Nick Stainthorpe
Partner, Reed Smith

Nick is a finance partner who advises clients across the globe on a wide range of structured and asset backed financings. He has significant experience in trade receivables securitisation and warehousing for banks, corporates and factoring companies, receivables finance and supply chain finance, collateralised financing and risk transfer trades, receivables platforms, tokenisation and block chain, inventory finance, emerging markets and Islamic finance. Nick participates actively in industry bodies and speaks regularly at events on matters such as the implications of regulation on the finance sector and specialty finance. He hosts the Alternative Finance Investor Roadshow, which is a leading forum for the non-bank finance sector. Laurent Tabouelle

Shona Tatchell
CEO and Founder, Halotrade

Shona is the CEO and Founder of Halotrade, a blockchain enabled Fintech start up focussed on the delivery of sustainable supply chain financing. Formerly Head of Innovation for Trade & Working Capital in Barclays working in partnership with Fintech companies which will shape the future of the global Trade business. Shona was a Director with Barclays for 6 years, and was previously Global Head of FIG Trade, delivering trade finance, trade services and risk mitigation solutions to bank and non-bank clients globally. She joined from HSBC where she was a senior manager in the European Structured Trade and Advisory team within Global Trade and Supply Chain. She began her career with The Chase Manhattan Bank graduating from the European Credit Training Programme and joined Chase’s Trade Finance team, where she spent 13 years working in London, the Middle East and Singapore where she headed Chase’s Trade Finance business. Shona owned her own successful hotel business in Scotland for several years after leaving Asia, before returning to banking in 2008. Shona holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Modern Languages (French and German) from Oxford University.

Lionel Taylor
Managing Director, Trade Advisory Network

Lionel Taylor is a trade, supply chain and invoice finance specialist with more than 30 years experience in senior leadership roles with major financial institutions including RBS, Rabobank, Citibank and Lloyds Banking Group and with non-bank independents.

Now Managing Director of Trade Advisory Network Limited, which specialises in the strategic development of global supply chains, trade and invoice finance with a client base of regional banks, independent finance providers, fintechs and technology providers, his key areas of expertise include new business strategy, turnaround, organisation design, new product design, product management, marketing, origination, credit, team building and training.

He has extensive experience of operating in Asia where he led the cooperation on trade and supply chain finance between RBS and Bank of China, established an independent finance company facilitating trade between Asian and Western SMEs and assisted in the development of the Chinese factoring industry. Today, he continues his close involvement in the region, working with government agencies, banks, independent funders, investors and others who are looking to promote and extend trade and supply chain finance in the region.

He currently is a Non-Executive Director of a growing UK-based fintech, sits as the independent credit committee member for another non-bank finance provider and is also co-author of the ICC Academy’s Advanced Supply Chain Finance online course, a core module of their CTCP programme.

He continues to be engaged in advising a number of financial institutions, fintechs and technology providers on the development of their trade and supply chain finance businesses and is frequently invited to comment and write for specialist international trade publications as well as chairing and speaking at international events.

Richard Tynan
Co-Founder, Marco Polo Network

Richard is the co-founder of Marco Polo Network (formerly TradeIX). He brings over 25 years of investment banking experience in both fixed income and capital markets to the team. Richard was Head of Debt and Equity Syndication at RBS, Head of Corporate Debt Syndication at Morgan Stanley, and ran Private Placements at Lehman London. Before co-founding Marco Polo Network, Richard established PrimeRevenue Capital Market in London: a capital management business that successfully raised a significant institutional balance sheet focusing on origination and distribution of trade assets.

Richard Whitehouse
Sales Director for Supply Chain Finance, Sancus

Richard has over 18 years’ experience in invoice finance, asset based lending, supply chain finance and trade finance. His roles have included working at both independent and bank owned funders in the UK, Ireland and Germany, including Aldermore Bank, AIB Plc, and Royal Bank of Scotland Invoice Finance. He has been integral in developing and delivering sales at a strategic level and has a track record in achieving performance objectives with a keen eye on returns. He has an excellent reputation in leadership roles within both sales and relationship management. Richard became sales director at Sancus Finance in June 2016 and was appointed to the board in March 2017.

Jamie Whiteway
European Sales Director

Jamie serves as European Sales Director for one of the fastest growing Fintech companies in the world - Taulia, and is based at Taulia's European Headquarters in London. Jamie is a Chartered Accountant and has a proven track record in helping companies across Europe and APAC review, assess and optimise financial processes, working capital and cash flow. Prior to joining Taulia in early 2016, Jamie spent a number of years at HSBC and Barclays in the UK advising, structuring and implementing working capital financing tools. Prior to moving to the UK, Jamie began his career in Australia at KPMG practicing Audit, Risk Advisory and Restructuring across APAC. Like most Australians, Jamie is sports mad, and being a keen golfer you can find him most weekends trying to cure his slice.
